It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Neil Ahern, our beloved brother and partner of Lynne Murr. His kindness, humor, laughter, and unwavering love touched so many lives.
Neil was born in Queens, New York, on December 15, 1958, the son of Neil and Mary Lee Ahern. He grew up in Albertson, NY, attended St. Aidan’s Elementary School, Maria Regina High School, and was a proud graduate of DeVry University. He worked for many years as an Information Technology Engineer for JP Morgan Chase.
He was happiest surrounded by loved ones, telling stories that always ended in laughter. He loved the Mets beyond all reason and imbued that in his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his partner, Lynne; sisters, Maureen and Sharon and brother-in-law, Tom; nephews and niece, Brendan Fechter, Colin Fechter, Keiden Stamoulis, and Eleni Stamoulis; as well as numerous cousins who will forever remember his warmth, humor, and generosity. Though our world feels a little dimmer without Neil, his light will continue to shine through the memories we share and the love he left behind.
A celebration of Neil’s life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Neil’s honor and memory may be made to Meals on Wheels of Hunterdon County: https://mowih.org/
All arrangements are under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
You are encouraged to visit Neil’s permanent life celebration site at www.wrightfamily.com to light a candle of hope, leave messages of condolence, share words of comfort and recollection, and post photographs of his life.
