Alexander Poletelo, age 88, died Sunday, August 6, 2006, at the Country Arch Care Center in Union Township, NJ. He was born on April 26, 1918, in New York City, NY the son of the late Andrew and Sonia Poletelo and lived in the Croton section of Delaware Township from the early 1930s until entering the care center. A 1936 graduate of Flemington High School, Mr. Poletelo was employed by General Motors Corporation in Trenton, NJ until his retirement in 1978. He also worked with his family s lumber business and poultry farm in Croton. During World War II he served in the US Army Air Force in China, India and Africa. He was a life member of the Croton Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed woodworking. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Steven and John Poletelo. He is survived by four nieces, Alice Jones of Phillipsburg, NJ, Diane Franklin Perrine of Branchburg, NJ, Sarah Jones, of Phillipsburg, NJ, Amanda Franklin of Branchburg, NJ and a sister-in-law, Genevieve Poletelo of the Croton section of Delaware Township. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service.
