Pearl Harbor survivor, Charles L. Guyer, 85, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. He was born on March 22, 1919 in Trenton, NJ, the son of the late Arthur and Rosella (Washburn) Guyer and lived in Mercerville, NJ before moving to Kingwood in 1984. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was wounded in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Until his retirement in 1980 he was an investigator employed by the New Jersey Division of Welfare, Trenton. Charles was predeceased by his first wife Mildred in 1980 and his second wife Yolanda in 2001. He is survived by his brother, Stanley Guyer of Farmington Hills, MI; three sisters, Violet Demko of Browns Mills, NJ, Ruth Kellogg of CA, Alice Hallow of Lawrenceville, NJ and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Frenchtown Community Fellowship Church, 2nd Street, Frenchtown, NJ under the direction of the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
