Dante Faraone, 79, of Pittstown, NJ, died on Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. He was born on August 5, 1923 in Abrizzie, Italy, the son of the late Alessandro and Maria (Minucci) Faraone and lived in Newark, NJ and Edison, NJ before moving to Pittstown in 1977. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Bunker Hill in the South Pacific. Until his retirement he was a supervisor employed by the Newark Public Library, Newark, NJ. Mr. Faraone was a former member of VFW Post #2433, Union, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Josephine Faraone; three sons, Alexander Faraone of Kingwood Township, NJ, Nicholas Faraone of Staten Island, NY, and Dante Faraone, Jr. of High Bridge, NJ; two brothers, William Faraone and Alexander Faraone both of Toms River, NJ; eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 6, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
