Elizabeth L. Bohn, age 87, of Flemington, NJ, died Friday, November 29, 2013, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ. She was born June 11, 1926, the daughter of the late George and Philomena Robinson, in Flemington, NJ, where she lived all her life. She worked at Flemington Cut Glass and National Parts for many years and retired as a secretary from the Hunterdon County Government in 1991. Betty was a 60+ year dedicated member of The American Legion Auxiliary. She served as National Historian, Department (State) President, and many terms as Hunterdon County President and Unit 159 Flemington President. One of her many favorite programs was Children & Youth and Veterans Affairs. She coordinated many events to support these subjects including fund raisers for Make-A-Wish Foundation and Lyons Veterans Hospital, in the name of the Legion Family. Betty was a devoted Auxiliary member that would support any veterans functions before her own personal life. She planned and worked endless hours in the kitchen of Legion Post 159 for any and all organizations for many years. The American Legion Auxiliary and The American Legion was her life! Many have stated in the past that she was the heart, soul and blood of The American Legion Family in Hunterdon County. Her husband Walter Robert (Bob) Bohn, a past Department Commander of The American Legion, predeceased Betty in 1994. She is also predeceased by her sister Doris Snyder and brothers Walter and Donald Robinson. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie DeCleene and husband Emile, of Flemington, NJ. Funeral survives will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, 38 Hwy. 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
