Elizabeth Libby Madden, 92, of Flemington, NJ, died on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. She was born on January 25, 1912 in Flemington, the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Meyers) Pyatt and lived in Flemington all her life. She was a 1930 graduate of Flemington High School and attended Trenton State college. Until her retirement in 1970 she was a clerk employed by Acme Supermarket, Flemington and also had worked at Alexrod s Pharmacy in Flemington and as a substitute teacher. She was a founding member of the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad and was a member of the Grandview Grange, Flemington and the Hunterdon County Board of Elections. Her husband, William Madden died in 1981 and a daughter Katherine Sands died in 1997. She is survived by her daughter Edythe McCown of Flemington, a sister Avis Darago of Holland Twp. NJ, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stockton Wesleyan Church, 12 North Main St., Stockton, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, under the direction of the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
