John “Jack” L. Gerdes, age 49, of Flemington, NJ, died Monday, August 1, 2005, at the Hunterdon Medical Center. He was born on March 19, 1956, in Trenton, NJ the son of the late Harry and Claire Gerdes and lived in Trenton before moving to Flemington in 1985. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Trenton, NJ and Trenton State College. Mr. Gerdes was employed as the Chief Operator for the Raritan Township Municipal Utilities Authority, Raritan Township, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Debbie Latham; three children, Jade Gerdes, Harry Gerdes and Julia Gerdes all of Flemington, NJ; a step-daughter, Jessie Lustig of Harrisburg, Pa; a sister, Claire Tongue and her husband Benson of Walnut Creek, CA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
