John Leone, 90, of Clinton, NJ, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. He was born on March 28, 1914 in Delaware Township, NJ, the son of the late John and Carmella (Grutta) Leone and lived in Flemington before moving to Clinton in 1993. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Until his retirement John was a Corrections Officer at the Annandale Corrections Facility and also worked as Sergeant at Arms for the Hunterdon County Court. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Pittstown, NJ, a member and Past President of the Policemen’s Benevolent Association, State Corrections Officers Local No. 105 and a member of the American Legion – Herbert Cawley Post #188, High Bridge, NJ. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Ragnoni) Leone of Clinton; two brothers, Andrew Leone of Flemington and Samuel Leone and his wife Irene of Frenchtown; four sisters, Vivian McElligott of Knoxville, TN, Rose Damiani of Cherry Hill, Catherine Koska and her husband Albert of Ringoes, Bessie Higgins of Grand Junction, CO and many nieces and nephews. His brothers Frank, Russell and Anthony Leone pre-deceased him. The funeral will begin on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. from the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. to celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Pittstown. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen’s Cemetery, Flemington.
