Joseph S. D’Amico, also known as Junior, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died October 19, 2008. He was 75. Mr. D’Amico was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. Born Jan. 28, 1933 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of Joseph D’Amico and Michelina Zaccara. He is survived by his former wife, Sarah D’Amico, at home in Flemington, NJ; two daughters, Michele D’Amico, Flemington, NJ, Dina Marie Brobst, Flemington, NJ; a son, Joseph D’Amico, Flemington, NJ; a brother, Jim D’Amico of Poughkeepsie; a sister, Mildred Yovella, Poughkeepsie; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Grace LaFalce and Anna Sassone. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 218 Mill St., Poughkeepsie. No flowers please. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
