Mary A. VanGorder, age 86, of Green Brook, NJ, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. She was born on March 1, 1920, in York, PA and lived in Raritan Township, NJ over 40 years before moving to Green Brook Manor Care Center in 2002. Until her retirement Mrs. VanGorder was a waitress employed by Pfenninger’s Hilltop Inn in Flemington and also worked at the Bound Brook Inn. She was an avid artist, musician and piano teacher and a member of the B.P.O.E, Lodge 1928, Flemington, NJ. Her husband Reed VanGorder pre-deceased her in 1998. She is survived by her Son, Lynn Heckman of Green Brook, NJ; three granddaughters and one great-grandson. Funeral arrangements are private under the direction of the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of New Jersey, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083-3407.
