Nicholas G. McClary, Sr., age 76 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Hunterdon Medical Center
Nicholas was born to Norman Boyden and Beatrice McClary on December 10, 1946.
He obtained his master’s degree from Fordham University in 1986, where he found his love for Social Work. In 1987, Nicholas started his journey as a Forensic Social Worker at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, NY, a Social Worker at the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ, where he received the Gold Oak Leaf Award. He enjoyed helping people and in 2005 he opened Beacon Behavioral Health in West Berlin, NJ, and retired in 2019. Of course, he could not stay retired. He worked as a Clinical Social Worker at the Jewish Board Family Children Services and was a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Surviving is his wife Editha McClary; children Hassan McClary, Shirley Foster her spouse Darryl “Gunny”, Shaharazon McClary, Sheriyl Elcheickhali her spouse Bilal “Billy”, Teodorico Solano III his spouse Kathleen, Sherwin Solano his spouse Kristen, and Mark Solano; brothers Bobby Johnson his spouse Darlene, Steven Johnson his spouse Monica, Pastor Bruce Johnson and his spouse Lisa; grandchildren Halim, Hassan, Jr., Jazmine, Sheamarie, Jasmin, Sofia, Kaelo, Isabella, and Alexandra; great Grandchildren Juliana, Julisa, Elijah, Olivia Camron, and Cartier.
Nicholas will lie in repose on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10:30 -11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
Life celebration services officiated by Pastor Bruce will immediately follow the gathering at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and to which all are welcome.
Interment will take place privately.
