Nicolas Kopelman, age 89 years, of Bridgewater Township, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Bridgeway Care Center, Bridgewater, NJ.
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, November 2, 1928, son of the late Felipe and Clara Weinstein Kopelman, Nicolas had resided in Bridgewater for the past two years, having formerly lived in Hollywood, FL for twenty years and Queens, NY prior to that. He came to the United States in 1963.
A family man with one of the gentlest hearts around, Nicolas never raised his voice or had an unkind word for anyone. He worked hard and instilled the values of respect and caring in his sons.
An avid soccer and boxing fan, having played both sports for many years, he was looking forward to the World Cup this year, and now will have the best seat possible!
Married to the love of his life, Maria Zaras Kopelman for sixty-one years, the two were able to remain together in the same room at Bridgeway Care Center. Their relationship was admired by all those at Bridgeway because their love for one another was so genuine.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Marianne Kopelman and Leonardo and Debbie Kopelman; two grandchildren, David and Marissa Kopelman; a brother, Moises Kopelman; and many extended family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone at Bridgeway Care Center for their support over the past two years.
