Raymond Heller

Raymond Heller, age 54, of Flemington, NJ, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Friday, September 14, 2007, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 29, 1953, in Trenton, NJ, the youngest of twelve sons of the late Archibald and Ann (Lesnak) Heller. Until his illness, Mr. Heller was employed by Jake’s Restaurant, Flemington, NJ. He was compassionate, caring, hard working and deeply appreciated all the things many people did for him. An avid camper, he loved digging and searching for old artifacts. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Wayne, Lawrence, Archie, Glen, Reginald, Dale, Teddy, Brian and David. He is survived by his two brothers, Daniel Heller of Toms River, NJ, Noel (Sandy) Heller of Trenton, NJ; and his very close friend, Marie Heller. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, 38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ, with the Rev. James Devries officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Ray was a great guy, one of the best. I will miss him greatly. Especially his warm smile and caring heart.

My condolences to you, Daniel, Noel, and Marie. I have known Ray from our good times working together since 1994 at Jake's. A sweet friendship formed from the pleasure of listening to the Blues in the kitchen Sunday evenings. A lovely friend, it's bittersweet that we had our last visit together Thursday evening. May he fly on gentle wings.
