Richard P. Dalton, age 67 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born on October 6, 1951 in Jersey City, NJ, Richard resided in Mercer County, NJ for much of his life, doing various jobs in local towns. From working as a dishwasher at a local hotel to working at the drive-in movies, he was a jack of all trades!
In 1992 Richard moved into Little Haven Boarding Home, Lambertville, NJ. He then became a fixture in the town of Lambertville for the next two decades. He truly enjoyed the town and its people. Working for many years as a dishwasher at Sneddon’s, he later went on to work at Lambertville Station.
Being in Lambertville allowed Richard to enjoy one of his favorite pastimes, fishing in the local canal. He also enjoyed walking and many people from town will remember him walking the streets always with a smile and a wave hello.
A New York Yankees fan, Richard got to see them win this year’s opening game and now will surely be cheering them on from heaven. He was also and avid New Jersey Devils fan.
Passionate about animals, he enjoyed Western movies and simply spending time with people he cared about.
His group home manager, with whom he had a very good relationship, shared these thoughts: “Richard Dalton was an amazing man. He over came many obstacles in his life but still his spirit never broke. He was friend to many in the community and his peers, he enjoyed many things such as cooking, games, and TV. Richard will be missed; he impacted all our lives, and one day we will meet again.”
Surviving are his many caregivers, friends, and all those who were enriched by the kindness he put forth in this world.
